The following is Kentucky coach John Calipari’s statement on the passing of former Memphis coach Dana Kirk on Monday:
“My thoughts and prayers go out to Dana Kirk’s family and friends. During Dana’s time at Memphis, he led to the Tigers to great success. I was told by many in Memphis who were here for that era that no one coached better in the final five minutes of a game than Dana did.
“He will be missed by the Memphis community.”
