Kentucky defeated Florida 78-58 on Tuesday night in front of 24,389 fans at Rupp Arena.
UK improved to 24-1 overall and 10-0 in the Southeastern Conference, tied for the best start in league play since the 2004-05 season. With Doron Lamb leading the Cats in scoring with 18 points, including 4 of 5 from the 3-point line, the Cats shot 52.7 percent from the field and 60 percent from behind the arc. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds to go along with three assists. Anthony Davis and Marquis Teague each reached double figures in scoring with 16 and 12 points, respectively, with Teague dishing out a career-high 10 assists.
The Gators came into the game leading the country in 3-point field goals made, but the Cats held them to a season-low six treys.
