Calling all students!
Attention, Kentucky students, I need your help! I need you in those seats on Wednesday when we hold our open practice from 3 to 5 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum. I need you loud, I need you energized and I need you to pack it to the rafters.
Attention, Kentucky students, I need your help!
I need you in those seats on Wednesday when we hold our open practice from 3 to 5 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum. I need you loud, I need you energized and I need you to pack it to the rafters.
The ticket distribution will be Tuesday at the Memorial Coliseum ticket windows located on Euclid Avenue. Tickets (one per ID) will be available to all current UK students and faculty/staff, as well as Bluegrass Community and Technical College students.
Understand I’m asking for your help. Because we have a week off, I want this to be a midweek jolt to my players. We want to keep this thing going, so I want a packed Memorial Coliseum. I want everybody into it like it’s a midweek game.
The reality of it is, I don’t want to repeat what we had the week of Indiana. This is for you, our fans — a chance for our fans that don’t get to see us on a regular basis to feel the experience and see the players up close and personal – but it’s also for us, so let’s help each other out. Come ready to go.
We will go through our normal practice routine for 30 to 40 minutes, break for a couple of things for you, and then we’ll scrimmage for two 10-minute halves. The first half both teams will play man to man and the second half both teams will go zone.
We have several things planned for you, some of which are still in the works, but we’re hoping to have a 3-point contest where you will be shooting with the players, maybe a Q and A and some giveaways. We may have a few other things, but my staff is still working on those.
The added bonus is it’s going to be on ESPNU, ESPN3, WKYT in Lexington and on UKathletics.com, which only could be done here. Our fans across the world will still get to see the scrimmage, but it’s also an opportunity to show the rest of the world that nobody else could do something like this.
Let’s truly show them what “Only at Kentucky” means.
