Wow! The Big Blue Nation amazes me once again. Thanks to your efforts, the Kentucky Cares campaign raised $422,000 after a strong push from you during Friday’s telethon – and I’m told that number is expected to increase at the end of the day from the Kentucky Cares T-shirt sales and Central Bank drop-offs.
WKYT informed me that five of you met my $10,000 challenge within the first few minutes and donated. I was so impressed that we opened up five more spots for the lunch and the tour of the new Wildcat Coal Lodge. It only took you a few more minutes to meet that as well.
On behalf of everyone involved in the Kentucky Cares campaign, thank you for your support. With your help, we’re going to be able to help those that were affected by last week’s tornadoes that devastated our state.
If you didn’t get a chance to donate during the telethon, there are still four ways you can help:
- Text Redcross to 90999
- Visit www.redcross.org and give to the Disaster Relief Fund
- Drop a check off at any Central Bank location
- Mail a check to 1450 Newton Pike, Lexington, KY 405011 with “Kentucky Cares” in the memo line
Thanks again, Big Blue Nation. You’ve showed me Kentucky Cares.
