The Oklahoma City announced the signing of former Wildcat guard DeAndre Liggins on Wednesday. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, per team policy.
Liggins, a three-year star at Kentucky, is entering his second season in the NBA. He spent his first season with the Orlando Magic after going 53rd overall in the 2011 NBA Draft.
The former John Calipari guard saw action in 17 games during the 2011-12 season. He averaged 1.9 points and 0.9 rebounds in 6.8 minutes.
Liggins was a key piece in UK’s 2011 Final Four run, serving as Kentucky’s top defensive player during its upsets of Ohio State and North Carolina.
Liggins joins former Wildcat Daniel Orton in Oklahoma City. Both will be fighting for a roster spot on last year’s NBA runner-up.
