The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are to be played out right here in beautiful Lexington, Kentucky, the first time they’ve ever been held on American soil. With that honor comes a great responsibility to make sure our guests enjoy the best the Bluegrass has to offer. CoachCal.com has teamed with the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games to get everyone in the spirit and bring you a first for Coach Calipari, a clue-based search for the location of prize packages around the state that include tickets and souvenirs to the World Equestrian Games as well as autographed Coach Calipari merchandise.

Dr. Pearse Lyons from Alltech was excited about the partnership. “The biggest sporting event in the history of the Commonwealth is coming to town, and who better to promote the Alltech Games than the biggest name in college basketball?”

The contest will involve clues being given on both Coach Calipari’s Facebook Fan Page as well as his Foursquare account. Foursquare is a location-based social app used by millions around the world and this event marks Coach Calipari’s first endeavor on the burgeoning social network.

Coach Calipari – never one to shy away from internet technologies – noted, “We want to continue to be at the forefront of social media and Foursquare gives us an opportunity to have some fun and involve the greatest sports fans in the world, the Big Blue Nation.”

To participate, contestants will first need to watch Coach Calipari’s Facebook page for the initial clue as to the whereabouts of the prize package which will appear in the form of a picture of the prize at its location. Once the clue is announced, contestants will have 30 minutes to get to the location and claim the prize. One prize package will be given to the first contestant to find the the package at the location hinted at. If the prize is not found in the first 15 minutes, a second clue will go out via Foursquare where Coach Calipari will check in at the exact location where the prize package is located leaving just 15 minutes for it to be claimed. To get the last clue, contestants will need to create a Foursquare account and follow Coach Calipari.

The first of five prize packages will be up for grabs some time Thursday, September 2, so stay tuned for the clues…
