In case you missed it on John Calipari’s social media channels early Wednesday, Coach Cal said Nerlens Noel’s surgery on Tuesday to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee went well.
“Got a call from Nerlens yesterday and put it on speakerphone so he could talk to the team,” Calipari said. “The surgery went well and he’s doing fine. It was great for his teammates to hear from him after surgery and I think it helped Nerlens too. I can’t wait to see him back on the court.”
Noel is recovering in Gulf Breeze, Fla., and will be with Dr. Scott Mair of UK Sports Medicine when he can return to Lexington to start his rehab.
The normal timetable for the recovery is six to eight months.
