Registration for the 2013 John Calipari Basketball Fantasy Experience, which will be held Sept. 7-9 at University of Kentucky facilities, is now open.

The second annual John Calipari Basketball Fantasy Experience will provide up to 72 participants (64 players and eight coaches), ages 35 and older, the opportunity to experience the ultimate basketball and Wildcat fan experience. The camp offers participants the chance to live the life of a UK basketball player for the weekend, including unprecedented access to Coach Cal and the inner workings of the UK basketball program.

The Fantasy Experience, which is split into three different packages (details below), includes everything from elite basketball instruction from Calipari, his staff and other college level coaches, to games, tournaments and contests, Nike gear, a game at Rupp Arena, an autographed piece of the 2012 national championship floor, exclusive social and networking events, access to UK’s word-class facilities, and more.

“What we were able to do last year with our inaugural Fantasy Experience made it an unforgettable event for everyone involved,” Calipari said. “The money we raised for charity made it over the top. My hope is that we can raise even more money than we did last year while making it a one-of-its-kind opportunity to live the life of a Kentucky basketball player for all of our campers.”

With the combination of the John Calipari Basketball Fantasy Experience and ticket sales from the 2012 UK Alumni Charity Game, Coach Cal and UK were able to donate $350,000 to seven different organizations last year.

To register for this year’s Fantasy Experience, contact Matt Chacksfield at 513-745-5850 or Early registration is encouraged as last year’s Fantasy Experience was sold out.

Many of those who participated in the 2012 fantasy experience vowed to come back after last year’s inaugural success. Brian Adkins, a 2012 Fantasy Experience participant, called it “the best week of (his) life.”

“It has been first class,” Adkins, an emergency physician in the University of Kentucky’s ER and a professor in the UK School of Medicine, said during last year’s experience. “I’ve been smiling from ear to ear the whole week, and that’s the reason I came.”
