Polson’s jersey retired

On Friday night at West Jessamine High School, Jarrod Polson’s high school retired his jersey and presented him a key to the city.

All of Polson’s current teammates and coaches, including John Calipari, were in attendance for the ceremony, which included Polson’s family and his high school coaches.

Polson made a brief speech at the end of the ceremony thanking his former high school teammates and coaches for all their help. Polson said the jersey retirement was more of a reflection of their collective hard work than his individual accolades.

“That’s something I’m proud of and my family is proud of,” Polson said before the ceremony Friday night. “I think it’ll be really fun to go back and see everyone, just kind of thank all of them for how they’ve invested in my life and how they’ve supported me.”
