A wish come true: Josh’s weekend with the Wildcats

Last weekend, Josh from Laurel County had his wish granted.

With the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Josh met John Calipari and his favorite basketball team, the Kentucky Wildcats. Josh, who battles a life-threatening heart condition, was by the Cats’ side throughout the weekend as the team prepared to play LSU.

On Friday, Josh watched the team practice at the Joe Craft Center before meeting the players and staff, shooting around with some of the team and getting a jersey with his name printed on the back. On Saturday, Josh joined the Cats for their pregame shoot-around, watched as the team broke down film and then sat court side as Kentucky pulled off a thrilling overtime victory against LSU. After the game, Josh sat with Coach Cal during his postgame press conference and celebrated with the team in the locker room.

“I’ve never seen him so excited about anything,” said Lisa, Josh’s mom. “He loves UK.”
