Video: Hamidou Diallo group phase mixtape

Kentucky freshman guard Hamidou Diallo has been one of the most exciting players to watch in Cairo at the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup. Diallo has started every game for USA Basketball, which moved to 4-0 Wednesday with a 117-69 win over Mali in the round of 16, and has thrown down some of the most spectacular dunks in the entire event.

It hasn’t only been the dunks though. Diallo has shown great ball handling, a tenacity and willingness to go grab rebounds and a strong jump shot as well. Thanks to FIBA, we now have a great mixtape showing off some of Diallo’s better plays from USA’s three preliminary round games against Iran, Angola and Italy.

Including USA’s win over Mali, the 6-foot-5 guard from Queens, New York, is averaging 12.8 points (third most on the team), 4.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He’s also shooting 53.8 percent (21-39) from the field.
