Kentucky basketball announces TV designations for 2017-18 schedule

2017-18 Men’s Basketball Schedule

Opponents for the 2017-18 Kentucky men’s basketball season have been known, and now the majority of the TV designations and game times for that schedule are known.

The entire Southeastern Conference men’s basketball TV schedule was released Wednesday afternoon, as well as many of Kentucky’s nonconference games.

The Wildcats will once again be one of the most televised teams in the nation. As it currently stands, every regular-season game on Kentucky’s schedule will be on national television, including both of UK’s exhibition games, the Blue-White Game and Big Blue Madness. The SEC Tournament, held this year in St. Louis, will also air on national TV.

All of the games included in the ESPN package (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and SEC Network) will also be available through the ESPN app, which is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider. Each of the CBS Sports games will be available to stream live in markets across the U.S. via the CBS All Access subscription service, with additional coverage on and the CBS Sports app.

Kentucky announced most of the game times for its 2017-18 slate as well. You can find the most up-to-date TV and tipoff info by clicking here.

All four events making up Kentucky’s preseason slate – Big Blue Madness (Oct. 13), Blue-White Game (Oct. 20), Thomas More College exhibition game (Oct. 27), Centre College exhibition game (Nov. 3) – will occur at Rupp Arena, begin at 7 p.m. ET and will air on SEC Network.

UK will play nonconference games against Vermont (Nov. 12), Kansas (Nov. 12), Harvard (Dec. 2) and West Virginia (Jan. 27) on ESPN. The Wildcats’ home game against Virginia Tech (Dec. 16) will air on ESPN2. Kentucky will play back-to-back games against UCLA (Dec. 23) and Louisville (Dec. 29) on CBS.

Two conference games for Kentucky still have TV designations that are to be determined. UK’s road game at Texas A&M (Feb. 10) and home game against Missouri (Feb. 24) will air on either ESPN or ESPN 2. Times for those two games against the Aggies and Tigers, as well as the Wildcats’ Big 12/SEC Challenge game against West Virginia, will be announced at a later date.

Among UK’s other 16 SEC games, nine will be played on ESPN, two will be shown on ESPN 2, two will air on SEC Network and three will be played on CBS.

Times and TV designations for the four-game Adolph Rupp Classic at Rupp Arena have not yet been announced. Kentucky’s season-opener against Utah Valley and nonconference matchup against Monmouth at Madison Square Garden in New York as part of the Citi Hoops Classic are also both awaiting times and TV designations.
