NEW YORK – Kentucky arrived in New York Monday evening for its Champions Classic showdown with Kansas.
The Cats will go to battle with the Jayhawks at 9 p.m. on Tuesday in Madison Square Garden for its first road test of the year. On Saturday and Sunday, the team will play its second and third games in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament from Uncasville, Conn.
In between there, the Cats will go through a lot of practice and preparation, a few team meetings, and plenty of sightseeing.
Freshman Kyle Wiltjer, making his first trip to the Big Apple, has graciously agreed to give CoachCal.com an exclusive view into his first collegiate road trip. Wiltjer will update us throughout the week on the team travels, his experience and fill us in on what life is like on the road as a Kentucky basketball player.
In his first blog entry, Wiltjer hit the streets of New York to talk about his first chartered flight, the bright lights of a big city and a team meeting with John Calipari.
