There are names from the 15 games just played that will evoke sweet memories in ensuing years.

We’re going to offer up the CoachCal.com Staff’s 5 Favorite non-Conference Opponents, but we’re also going to ask you to submit your own to Coach Cal’s Facebook page. Once again, two FB commenters win will an autographed item from Coach Calipari.

G Corey Allmond, Sam Houston State

Do you know how many people will say they were there the night Allmond, dropped in a Rupp Arena record of 11 3-pointers? At least 24,000.

But many more will claim to have witnessed, first hand, Allmond’s joy as the senior guard went 13 of 22 from the field and 11 of 16 from 3 – a FG line you may only see once in your life!

G Nick Winbush, Miami (OH)

On the night Kentucky Basketball’s “The Wall” debuted, Winbush’s RedHawks made 15 of 26 3-pointers with Winbush netting 26 points on 8 of 10 from beyond the arc.

G Kemba Walker, UConn

12 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 turnovers, 1 block and 1 steal in 37 minutes. He filled the stat book on a grand stage – Madison Square Garden – where both he and the game’s hero, John Wall, may someday meet again, wearing different colors.

G Maurice Creek, Indiana

If you like efficiency, Creek was your guy during the first true road game of the Calipari Era in Bloomington. The freshman Hoosier scored 31 points in 32 minutes of play.

F T.J. Robinson, Long Beach State

With 13 points and 15 rebounds Robinson is one of the few “frontcourters” who have been able at least hang with the big men triumvirate of Patrick, DeMarcus and Daniel. (Just try finding a true forward who is worthy of inclusion on this list!)

Others to consider would include, Landry Fields, Stanford; Stanley Robinson (Forward), UConn; Samardo Samuels, Louisville
