We know this isn’t the Wildcats first road game of the year – technically. But you can make the argument that entering the O’Connell Center on the campus of the University of Florida tonight will be the young Cats’ introduction to life on the road in the SEC.
Quote of Note

"We went to Indiana and got down really fast and were down 12 and about to get blown out and we just had to chip away and get back in the game and end up beating them. Now, this will be a team that will be even better and a tougher environment than Indiana. We will see if we are ready for it.”

Yes, Indiana’s Assembly Hall was loud and rowdy, but this game - with an impact on league standings - will be even more rowdy, more intense.
It will be vital for the Cats to come out fast and take the crowd out of things. Then, and this has been a problem, UK will need to keep the pressure on and "step on their throats."
That is a lot to ask of a young team in a hostile environment but today's shootaround was encouraging as the team showed good focus and intensity.
Look for the Cats to try and take advantage of the Gators' lack of inside presence. It's something UF coach Billy Donovan is keenly aware of.
“Obviously it’s going to be a challenge. Blocking out with us being man-on-man is going to be very important. They have a combination of all three things that make up a good rebounding team. They have length, they have strength and they have great pursuit of the ball. They have all three of those ingredients. Some of their guys rebound the ball with quickness, speed, and athleticism on the floor and it’s hard to go around them. Some of them rebound where they carve out a way because they are physically strong. Then there are the other guys that have great pursuit of the ball. (Daniel) Orton, (DeMarcus) Cousins, Patrick (Patterson), obviously, even (Darnell) Dodson and (Darius) Miller, for their positions, have all three of those ingredients, which makes Kentucky a great rebounding team.”
• Coach warned the players that this building will be as loud as any they have played in. He asked UK assistant strength and conditioning coach, Scott Padgett to confirm as much and he did. Padgett had previously told the story of some heckling that was directed his way and focused on his slightly proturbing ears!
DeMarcus Cousins asked, "Louder than Indiana?"
To which Coach and Scott said, "Yep."
• Erin Andrews will be the sideline reporter for the game. Jeanine Edwards was originally scheduled to be the sideline reporter, according to an ESPN release sent last week.
