Behind 23 points from Patrick Patterson, 19 poinst and 11 rebounds from DeMarcus Cousins and a 47-31 rebounding edge, UK downed the only team to beat them this season, South Carolina, 82-61.
With a plus-26 edge in points in the paint (56-30), UK moved to 27-1 overall and 12-1 in the SEC. Devan Downey led SC with 26 points and Lakeem Jackson added 16.
UK will be back on the court in 36 hours in Knoxville when they face the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday at noon. With a win, UK would clinch at least a share of its 44th SEC title.
