At approximately 2:30 a.m., Stacey Poole and Terrence Jones were involved in a car accident at the corner of Euclid Avenue and High Street. They were struck by a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road. I’m happy to report that nobody in the car was injured. First and foremost, their safety was my biggest concern.
Sophomore guard Stacey Poole turned 20 on Monday just a few days after freshman forward Kyle Wiltjer turned 19.
We just finished up our first six full-length practices since Big Blue Madness. We put the guys through four practices over the weekend and then ran them through one Monday and one again Tuesday. They’ll get the day off Wednesday to recharge, but we’ll have a hard practice lined up for them Thursday.
On Saturday, it was pedal to the metal as Coach Cal ran the team through two two-hour practices.
